How should product, board and film be prepared for a skin-pack trial?

Direct answer: Supply the actual product, backing board or tray, film, coatings and finished-pack acceptance criteria. Define product dimensions and protrusions, orientation, heat sensitivity, vacuum path, board porosity or coating, film draw and seal, trim, batch size and operator loading. A trial must use production-equivalent materials because adhesion and forming depend on the complete construction.

Why does product profile matter?

Sharp edges, undercuts, height variation and flexible or delicate parts affect how film draws around the product and where stress concentrates. Identify the difficult orientation and any surfaces that must remain uncovered.

How should board and film be specified?

Provide material supplier information, dimensions, coatings, print and any perforation or die-cut features. Do not infer recyclability or product suitability from the machine process; those claims require material and end-market evidence.

What should the finished-pack check include?

Define appearance, product position, adhesion or seal area, trim, board condition and any functional test required by the pack owner. Retain representative approved and failed samples from the trial.
